Internet Safety

I've been a bit wary about this whole blog thing for a few weeks now. What happened at the hospital, I'm about ninety percent sure it happened because I mentioned our outing.

And I realized how hard it was to keep from blogging.

It's him, in my head again. Getting me to do things I should know better than to do. It's aggravating is all because I never had this problem until the damn temptation arose...Nowadays it's like I've got twitchy fingers and I just need to type about the stupidest shit. Like how Danny wheezes too much and the dead raccoon I found in the storm cellar, and fuck I'm doing it right now!

It's been bugging me since the incident, but I'm too knee deep now to stop. Journaling just doesn't do it anymore.

Fucking Slenderman.

So I suppose this is a headsup that outlining plans is not going to be a thing that happens on this blog.

There's a big change coming and I can feel it. Proxies are not what they used to be and I can feel a big shift coming. I'm trying to fix things, but it's all about to get a lot worse and the less you know the better.

So yeah Danny may come on and say shit like, "Annalee is keeping secrets! I thought I could trust her, blah blah blah," but I'm going to make this very clear now. I keep secrets to keep people safe.

Ideas are very dangerous things ladies and gentlemen. Not everything should be broadcast over the internet and not everything is something I can trust Danny with.

There's just going to be some problems that are going to stay my problems, and telling you about them would make them your problem. As members of the stalked you should all understand that.

Now you can take that statement as a challenge to torment me until you get the answer you want, you can take it as a sign I'm about to go darkside, or you can put a little faith in a person who's been around for fifteen years and trust I know what I'm doing.

That's all I'm going to say on the matter.

Okay so, I figured I'd just toss this up here just in case anything happens, because that's what the blog's for and everything.

Annalee has been a little weird ever since we got back from that whole hospital fuckup deal. She's been driving off at night and leaving me alone occasionally, which I'm generally not okay with at all because it's a stupid thing to do, and I don't know why she's doing it, and she's acting kind of, well, dodgy.

Report #4

[03:48:49, 08/5/13]

So we’re here to talk about how the whole hospital bull shit deal went. It was awful. Just putting it out there.

I’d give it a hard five on the scale of shit gone wrong.

Out of what, ten?

Out of the fucks I give. Fuck...my head.

Eloquent as per usual. Okay so basically, what went down was that I got stabbed in the neck with some kind of syringe by the current world’s second biggest ass hole, and a group of his pals nearly cut my eye out.

Nearly as in they waved a knife in front of his face and knicked him.

You know what? Shut up. They scared the shit out me and that definitely counts for a little more injury there. And they cut my eyelid so don’t even go there.

Well consider it a fairly harmless lesson in why we should know the last names of our bosses.

Who... was the guy, anyway?

He wasn’t anyone. Just some shit eating proxy who’s dead as a door nail now.

Yeah, but.... I don’t know. He creeped me the fuck out. I mean I talked to the idiot for about fifteen minutes before he stabbed me. And he spilled coffee on me. Son of a bitch.

Now here’s a daily lesson ladies and gentlemen, when some ass hole spills coffee on you in the middle of your secret hospital infiltration mission, and drags you to a secluded closet where he begins to say things that make you uncomfortable and stir up an instinctual feeling that something is off, the correct response is to knock his teeth out, and then ask questions. Not sit around conversing until he gets the chance to

Oh my god, that was unnecessary. Unlike some people I don’t go around mistrusting everyone and punching people’s teeth out thanks.

And how’s that going for you?

I...... shut up.

Alright, so if you haven’t already guessed, Daniel and I were acquiring equipment from a hospital.

...Yeah.

Danny ran into a proxy who doped him up. And I was doing alright until I got caught in a  loop about halfway through the operation. I’m assuming that was probably when the proxy opened it to take you inside.

[sigh]

That was neat. When did you program sighs?

I told you I redid some of it, didn’t I? After... slender baked the last lot of codes. I thought it needed more of those little audio recognition whatever s.

Yeah, but I wandered around in that hell hole for a while. Ran into some freaky ass shit as per usual. None of it stood out really with the exception of this one...thing.

Thing?

It looked sort of like a person, but it was huge and it had this one yellow eye. Bout scared the shit out of me . Sometimes you see shit and you just don’t mess with it you know?

What was something like that doing... there?

I have a few theories, none of which I feel like discussing when I’m being recorded, and when I’m seeing doubles.

You know that’s not healthy, right? Like... really not healthy.

When did I ever give you the impression I was a healthy individual?

Yeah you’ve got a point. Still though.

Just continue on with the story please.

What have I missed...? That the hospital kind a... died?

Yeah...there was that.

Well, um... we drove off, then drove back, and the place was... rubble.

[pause]

Yeah... and the people said that it was blown up three days ago.

[pause]

And... um... that it? That all you wanted to talk about?

Took care of all four proxies. The one that tripped Danny up was a bit of a tough one, but took care of him.

There’s that, I guess. And we got all the supplies...

And by got he means some shit head loaded up our car when we were stuck in limbo.

Well, yeah, but that’s sort of embarrassing, isn’t it?

No. Embarrassing is when your teacher reads your love note to Dewey  Michaels in the third grade, this was baffling.

...Dewey Michaels?

Kid was a fucking dick.

Wow that was irrelevant.

So are your smart ass comments, Danny.

Actually no. My smart ass comments are a lot more relevant as I’m actually commenting on the thing we’re talking about at the time and not some kid I may or may not have had some stupid crush on in third grade. Thanks.

Danny, why would proxies intentionally aid us in our pursuit to kill the thing they call Daddy?

I don’t know, as a trick? A taunt? A kind of look at us we can give you all the things you need and you’ll still fuck up?

...maybe...

You... don’t agree? Then what were you thinking?

...I don’t know what I think. It’s 4 in the morning and I’m drunk.

Point taken.

Let’s just end it here.

Okay. Well, everyone, you know how all this shit went down. Until next time.

Home again.

Yeah, we're back. Diggity, dig or some shit.

All give you the short version of how the trip went, that being it was a goddamn train-wreck.

Was it successful? I guess.

If you'll excuse me, there's a bathtub full of moonshine I need to go dunk my head in.

We're Off!

Off on our secret mission to gather up some equipment. We should be missing for a few days so don't worry if it seems like we've been missing for a while. Incognito I don't want to see any of that "five days" bullshit, you got me?

Keep it together while I'm gone alright? I don't want to come back and find all of you've all gone batshit or something.

See you when we get back.

Apparently I have to put a post up about this stupid dream I had. I'm going to keep it brief but...

It started off in a graveyard. Actually the whole thing was in a graveyard but whatever it actually did start in a graveyard so yeah. It was bleak and grey and foggy, like in movies, and the tombstones were old and crumbling and... well, it looked like something my brain must've got straight out of an old horror movie.

So that was all well and good until shit got nasty. And by nasty I mean a lot of people I knew crawling their way up out of the ground nasty. So they did, crawl their way up out of the ground I mean, and the ones who'd been dead longer looked worse. Toby, then Grandma Janet, then mom and dad, and then, well, just other people, but those were the main ones. Pretty nasty looking but surprisingly I don't remember losing it. Cause I knew them, I guess.

And it wasn't like they did anything to hurt me. They were sorta all zombie-ish, once again like in shitty movies, but really lifelike. But they were talking, in these warped voices, all familiar and shit, and all at once, like in perfect unison. And they kept telling me to come and join them, because it was peaceful and quiet, and it was an escape, and they were all asking me how much I missed them, and telling me I didn't have to anymore. Miss them that is.

And I'll admit that it was tempting. Nice, quiet, a way out. It's always been tempting. But I sorta woke up before I could decide.

Old Records

Found an old autopsy record in my stash. To be honest I'd almost completely forgotten about it, not that I have ever had the best memory.

It was the first proxy I ever killed. I remember it was back when I was still with Rex. He had this particularly nasty piece of work locked up in the warehouse we were inhabiting at the time. It was a proxy who'd been referring to himself as Cipitio. It became apparent very quickly that we weren't going to be able to bring him back, but Rex had decided not to give up.

Cipitio didn't speak english, so most of Rex's attempts to get through to him were useless seeing as how Cipitio didn't seem to understand one word he was saying. Of course, against all odds, Rex had managed to pick up a girl who'd been abandoned in the middle of Texas, who spoke perfect Spanish. Guess who that lucky girl was?

In a way it was the first time I'd ever really interacted with a proxy. Sure I'd seen them and had fought off a few, but for the most part Rex and his gang didn't want me dealing with them and I can see why.

For one I was a tiny little shit. When they first found me I was shaking in my boots in the middle of a forest trying to fire a rifle that was two sizes too big for me. For another I don't remember Rex's gang being all that fond of me. At the time I think I was pretty convinced I had gone batshit, and I spent a lot of time on my own. In other words I was their tagalong and everyone was sort of waiting for a place to drop me off.

Until of course we found Cipitio, because then all of a sudden I was somehow the go to girl. I remember the first day Rex shuffled me in there. We had him tied to a chair and he was looking at us. He had these beady little eyes and they kept moving from me to Rex. Rex kept asking me to say this and that, but once the creep found out I could understand what he was saying I don't think he payed much attention to Rex at all. I can't remember exactly what he said, but it was about as horrible as you could expect. The kind of talk that would make a sailor blush, as they say.

I was terrified of him. And not just because he was a creepy bastard with an intricate vocabulary, oh no no no, it was a lot different than that. The man was evil. Evil to the root and core, and I could tell that this guy wasn't some tortured angel before he became a proxy. He was just evil.

After day one I refused to go back in there, and even though Rex wasn't happy about it, he didn't make me. It still worried me though, because I knew he was still there, and whenever I was near the cage I could feel him watching me.

The day I killed him, Rex had decided we were going to leave Cipitio at the warehouse and move on somewhere new. I walked into that cage with my shotgun, and I remember that proxy looked at me and he smiled and said, Nada me puede matar.

When I was little, a rabid dog attacked me. Someone had chained it up and left it in the middle of the street, and I had wandered too close. My mother took me to the hospital, and my father was so angry he shot the dog. I remember seeing the body, and thinking about what it had died for and why it had deserved to die.

I shot that fucking proxy in his smug little face, and never lost a night of sleep over it. I brought his body out with me to the warehouse and that was when the idea of using what was left to learn about how proxies were made and how to help them.

I don't think Rex ever forgave me for that, but I didn't need his approval or anyone else's for that matter. I'm not ashamed of what I did and I would never apologize for it. I wasn't going to let that proxy continue to live in a world of people who shouldn't have to be forced to deal with him. There are people in this world that need protecting, and very few who are willing to do what has to be done. So I decided I wasn't going to be someone who allowed messes to go unkept because of my own morality.

So I took that proxy and opened him up and went through all of it. It was the most terrible and disgusting thing I had ever done, but I did it because I knew no one else would.

I guess I do wish the ultimate decision would have been harder for me. But what are you supposed to do when the scum of the earth tells you you can't kill him.

I still have the record. It's this tiny little list.

Cipitio
Age: 20-30
Tattoo of exed-circle on tongue.
Black liquid in brain, lungs, heart.
No teeth.

Ciptio was a screwed up customer.
